Heal with the Heart

KHYF Yoga Therapy Training

Self empowerment and healing through body, breath, mind and spirit.

An opportunity to study this ancient healing modality in the classical tradition of T. Krishnamcharya and TKV Desikachar, is being offered in New Zealand for the first time, starting in January of 2020. This training consists of 6 modules, and will conclude in January 2022.

A detailed prospectus can be downloaded from Ruth Diggins’ website, where you will also find links to the KHYF, and more information about the tradition.

Ruth will be a teacher on this course, and as an experienced Yoga Therapist herself, will be able to answer any questions you might have about the training, the teachings or the application of traditional Yoga Therapy in Aotearoa.

Who can attend this training?

While this training will be of great benefit to anyone currently involved in teaching yoga, you do not need to be a Yoga Teacher to attend. For some people it could be a spiritual journey, a pathway to understanding one’s self more fully, and a way to take charge of their physical and mental health.

For those who are involved in body-work or in mental health, yoga therapy offers tools that can support the practitioner as well as his or her clients.

One of the benefits of the training programmes offered by the KHYF worldwide is the mentoring system. All students are required to work with a personal mentor who has completed the training. In my experience this makes integrating the learning much easier, and helps the students stay connected to the process between modules.

These trainings also create a sangha, a community of learners, mentors and yoga therapists, which provides support for all in their various roles.

If you are interested but would like to meet the teachers and get a taste of this approach to Yoga Therapy, then please come to the seminar in September.

Deal with the Body, Heal with the Heart
A Yoga Therapy seminar in Raumati South.

In the seminar entitled Deal with the Body, Heal with the Heart, to be held in Raumati South on September 20-22, 2019, Kausthub Desikachar will explain the origins of Yoga Therapy, and give participants an experience of the tools of yoga, so that the theory of Yoga Therapy comes alive for them. His way of teaching is very accessible, and goes beyond the intellectual process of learning to become an embodied understanding. This seminar is the second of two, but stands alone as an exploration of yoga therapy as it applies to our mental and spiritual well-being.

Are you inspired to come and find out more, but unsure about a three day commitment? If so, you are welcome to attend the first day of the seminar. Just let Ruth Diggins know, and she will create a special booking for you.
